I am Jonathan W from Cameron, NC. I am 34 and a magazine editor for two world wide distributed antique tractor magazines. I am also a super antique tractor puller, a self taught machinist, I do aluminum foundry work in my shop building custom parts, and I use to have a wrecker service, where I used nothing but 73 to 87 chevy trucks. I still have a 1982 C-30 chevy rollback with over 500,000 miles that I haul tractors on. I am currently building my "Dream Truck" a 1982 suburban/ 1978 C-60 integrated together. My website is

Hi, my name is Morgan and live in MN. I've got a '78 1/2 ton lwb, 2wd. I've been in the landscaping biz for several years. Been checking out the board for a while and finally decided to join. Looks like lots of great info here with nice people and minimal flames unlike some other boards I've seen. I look forward to my time here

Well looks like it is my turn.
Hi to all. My name is David. Right now I have a carrer with O'Reillys Auto Parts. I'm not married but in a commiitted relationship with my girl Cherish. We have had 2 wonderful children. My daughter, Makiah Grace, is a year and a half and my son, Keegan Jace, is 8 months old. We live in Wichita Falls, Texas. I have finally owned my first full size chevrolet pickup. It is 1981 Chevrolet SWB. The power plant is a 350 that has a MSD ignition 6AL box, blaster 2 coil, and a MSD Distributor. It breathes from a K&N Air Filter. The sound comes from Hooker Headers with 3 inch pipe to a pair of Flowmaster 40 Series Delta Flows that are dumped right betore the rear axle. The stance has changed from stock to a 4/6 drop. The works are soon in for a full air bag suspension. I plan on doing a 383 stroker kit also. Well I hope to chat with everyone soon. Also if there is an one located near me that wanna get a car and truck club going get in touch with me. My yahoo name is ShorT81CheV feel free to add me.

I am Thomas, I have owned a few Stepsides and shortbeds all from 69-79 in the past. I prefer the 73-79 models with a 73-74 grill. I just sold my Toyota 4x4 to get a Stepside that has a 6 cylinder, I was suprised when I actually found what I was looking for, one that was in terrible condition that ran, for cheap that I could fix up. I need a daily driver that is good on gas and I has an iniine 6 before and it ran super, so I knew what kind of power I could expect out of it. Here's my gallery that is updated each time I get something done to it.

I'm Chris, I'm 35, married with a one year old. I am a carpenter in north Texas. I've be visiting this site since I bought my 77 step side last year. I really appreciate the help and advise from this site. I haven't had to work on cars much since I was 18, but I've always been interested. Now my 77 is just for cruising, not to get me back and forth to work. Much more fun.

Hey guys my name is James. I'm a 27 year old mechanic, husband, and father of a three year old boy.(Got lucky the first time!!!) I was driving a 82 shortwide until felt it necessary to take every bolt out of it, and start over. I'm sure I'm the first one right. I reside in the Texas panhandle, where there's no rust and unfortunatley no rain. I look forward to sharing info with everyone.

Hello all, my name's Jason, and I've got an '81 c10 shortbed. It was bought about 5 months ago from a local Dodge dealer for $500, the guy traded it in for a new Homo Ram, ooops I mean Hemi. Anyways, so far I've redone some of the interior, ran the numbers on the engine and it's a 1970 Z28-350 L-48
rebuilt the th350 and installed a 1500 stall converter, redid the exhaust with 3" pipes and stainless flowthrough magnaflows with dumps, and slapped in a 3.73 gearset. I've also got a new comp cam with .480 lift thats been sitting in my closet since Christmas that I haven't had the time to put in yet, can't wait.[img noborder]http://
