Hello, I hope I've done this right since this is new to me. I'm from North Carolina on the southeast side. I have a 85 Chevy C10 with 305/th350. I bought the truck in desire need of attention. It was being left to die and covered with weeds for burial. I use to be guess to this site but decided to join. I agree with the messenger and enjoy reading what everyone says. I don't like to argue so that won't happen. I like to enjoy what we can do with the Chevy's and show the rest of the world. I'm disabled and can't draw disability but that don't stop me. I love mechanicing and talking mechanics. I love camping so if you're get near me and want to go camping, let me know and my family would love for you to be there. We camp with 4 other families all over NC and SC and have a blast. Thanks for letting me join.

My name is Pat, 26 years old from Los Angeles.  I've been a mechanic since I learned to drive and for the last 4 years I've been working for a brake parts manufacturer, running the caliper rebuilding department and the technical support department.  I just joined this board after picking up a 73 C20 to tow the racecar in the larger trailer I hope I'll be able to get soon.  After I limped the truck home, I yanked the motor and trans, went through the 350 and bored it .030 over w/ flat top pistons, a Lunati 270/280* cam, headers, and new everything, including all stainless steel hardware.  All the brackets, pan, valve covers, and timing cover were send out to get cad plated.  I ditched the TH350 which needed help and built a TH400 for it.  Just got it back up and running yesterday.

My name is Alan and I'm a caraholic.  (Hi, Alan!)  I'm 28 years old, live in Fort Worth, Texas, and I'm married with SIX children.  14, 12, and 7 year old stepdaughters, a 5-year old stepson, a 13-month old terror-boy, and one more coming in March.

My wife and I own a 1984 Suburban K20, yellow and white, with tan 9-passenger vinyl interior.  We paid $900 for it and it's the first vehicle we've been able to own with more than 6-passenger seating.  Finally, we don't have to take 2 cars everywhere!  I also have a 1989 Chevy Celebrity with a blown head gasket and I'll be working on it as soon as I figure out how to get it in the garage up the hill.  If I push it with the high-riding Suburban, I'll bust out the taillights or something.

My wife is Amy and she's 32.  Which means she's old(er than me).  We have been married for about 2 years and she's 32.  Did I mention my wife is 4 years older than me?

(That age thing should have me sleeping in the garage long enough to fix my Celebrity on overnights.)

In my spare time I search the internet for easy ways to fix all the problems my vehicles have.  I also search eBay for anything I can use (filters, plugs, spare parts, owner's manuals to cars I don't own, etc)

I work for RJ Reynolds tobacco (for the next 4 hours) and my wife is my immediate superior.  (Probably because she's OLDER than me)  Thanks to a policy change, I can't be subordinate to her anymore (although I'm sure it won't change ANYTHING at home) so I'll be looking for work.  Rumor has it that she'll have me take over our eBay store and the increased number of items I'll put up and sell will replace the $1500 or so I make a month.  And if we get busy enough, it'll be even more.  Time to build a shed in the backyard to house all this stuff we're selling!  And we need shelves in the garage...and a new computer...and...and...this Suburban is going to be very busy hauling stuff!

Hey everyone, I am Brian I live in Ohio. I am 21 years old I am married and have a 1 year old little boy. I drive a 1979 Chevy K20 pick-up truck that I have been working on since I was 15 years old and it still isn't done. My wife hates it and tells me to get rid of it on a daily basis but you know how it is. My email address is soc_sports@hotmail.com and sometimes you can catch me on MSN messenger.

Here is my truck. I am in the process currently of rebuilding a fleetside bed for it so my time is spent for a while. I have a good helper most of the time though when his mom lets him come out to the shop with me. Hopefully one day this will be his truck.

So far all that has been done to it is I have rebuilt the engine. It is a 400 sbc with around 500+ horsepower. I just finished the transmission less than a month ago and the engine has a fresh rebuild and was installed a little over a week ago. The last engine was also a 400 sbc the was built by a guy who worked for Southwest 4X4 and it was cranking over 600 horsepower so he said (had bad luck with transmissions so he could have been right). The truck has a full floating Dana 70 rear end and a Dana 60 front with 4.11 gears. I am planning on putting a 4 in skyjacker or rough country suspension lift on it sometime in the near future and doing some extensive body work to it. If the wife doesn't sell it before then. If anyone has any suggestions for this truck feel free to let me know. Body work is all kinda new to me so any help would greatly be appreciated. I've got about 14 years before I have to worry about my son driving it so untill then I will have some fun with it.

Brian

Hi!  My name is Allen.  I'm in Chandler, AZ.  I think I found this forum long ago when it wasn't as active and just happened across it again.  My truck is a modified 1975 C10 that has been in my family longer than I have.  My parents bought it in 1977 a couple of months before I was born.  It has been just about everywhere across the U.S.  I've done a few things to it.  What you can't see is the Edelbrock multi-port EFI system under the hood and the built 700R4 backing up the stock block.

My name is Tim, and I am from East Texas. I am 42 married and have 4 wondereful children. My truck is an 82 C10 SWB,I bought a few years back from a friend of mine who was going through one of those "I'm broke and gotta sell something to pay the bills" moments. The body is straight, needs paint, but is LOADED with potential. Has a 305H engine, 350 "lockup" trans, new windshield, fairly new interior, ect....I have big plans for it, and intend to drive it fairly often. Right now it gets driven on weekends as I have a "company truck" for commuting back and forth to the job. I have really enjoyed this board so far and every one seems cool and helpful! I have used the tech pages and archives fairly often. Most notably bypassing the ESC module. Thanks for all the helpful tips and nice to meet everyone!

82 C-10 SWB - work in progress!

Hi, name's Tom, 50 yrs of life, married w/ children in Mesa, Arizona.  I work and play in the playground equipment industry for City parks, Schools, Home Owner Associations and anyone else who has need of just about any product found at your local Park.

I decided to restore my 76 Chevy Crew Cab 3/4 Ton 4x4 Custom Deluxe that was our family truck since 1988 but became a work truck for my install crew.  It served the crew well but now has cosmetic neglect and wear and tear on exterior & interior.    Other than looks, it runs great.  Has a 350 cid, Edelbrock 650, auto transmission, (350 I think).

Have found the postings here most beneficial since locating this web site just last week.

Hey, just stumbled across this board.

I'm 36, from Graham NC, wife, 2 boys 10 & 12, 2 dogs, 2 cats, a lizard. Drive a truck for a local carrier. Spend all of my time working on something.

Recently picked up an 84 Silverado daily-driver that I'm planning to restore a little at a time. I'll put up a pic once I get it off the jack-stands.

Here's my baby, 05 Dyna WideGlide.
