Here's where I stand tonight with a quick cell phone pic. Tomorrow my budy is supposed to stop over and I can yank the hood. Then I'm ready to pluck away

Cool, keep us posted.  You'll have to do a victory burnout video for us when you get it all back together.

#2 Intake was the ticker. I adjusted the lash quite a bit which make me suspect the lifter is starting to go bye bye.

Since they removed a the ZDDP from oil (effective DEC 06) there has been a ton of cam problems especially with BB chevys (which tend to have a lot of spring pressure). Theres also entirely different ways to break new cams in too.....

It's a roller cam, so no break-in issues.

OH, I see you were talking about the old cam, my mistake.

I read the other thread and man Vile, I'm sorry to hear you had that kind of trouble. As you as a tech as you are, it's still a big PITA to yank everything back out, tear down, rebuild, buy new gaskets and parts, reinstall, hope for no leaks, etc etc etc. I'm sure you are meticulous in your work so having to redo it has to be frustrating. You'll know that when it's all back together and giving that killer rumpity-rump-rump sound, you'll have a grin on your face :)

I just got off the phone with Summit and they're going to warranty everything except the crank and rods. I'll post details later.

Just curious, Was the crank undersized, or standard?

Steel crank .020" M & R

The reason for failure if I didn't repeat it in this thread is due to the oil pump pick up breaking. I've never seen anything like it and regardless had I stuck to my normal engine building techniques and not put my faith in a manufactured piece of crap I wouldn't be doing all this work again. For me it's more of a pita than anything else. But I'm gonna go out there and pop the headers off right now.

Man you work fast. I would still be looking at it wondering if I wanted to start that yet. Just seems like I never have time to do anything. I don't think I've worked on anything in the garage in a couple months between things at home needing fixed, kids in sports my 6th grader just finished thier football season a couple weeks ago went through the playoffs and won thier superbowl then the other one goes right into wrestling. Dang I miss my garage know. Sorry I started rambling on your thread. Just like how fast you work kinda envious I guess.
