"All that extra stuff" added strength to the bracket. You're going to be pushing against this thing and the force is multiplied by the peddle to the master cylinder.

Might want to think of a way to add stiffness to the bracket before powdercoat.

thanks

BTW i think it will be fine as strength it still hase plenty of meat on the thicknes and it will be bolted to the firewall with plates on the inside ,once its powdercoated and the plates are on the inside you`ll never see the underside of the dash  ;D I wouldnt have done this if i didnt ask the question on the forum here for everyones input ..

Thanks,
i`m hoping by February i can send out my 402 to be rebuilt.I got the block, forged steel crank and 049 oval port heads.I got a noisy gear drive and valve covers and timing chain cover. The rest i`m gonna let the machine shop tell me what cam, rods, pistons, valve train and intake and carb to use.Right now its on hold as i`m trying to finish this horse drawn farm wagon that needs to get done soon so i can put my 70 cougar back in the corner where the wagon sits and i can get back to the truck.I will take some pics tonight of the firewall piece in the previous pics i had powdercoated and the steering column and the pieces done as well as the metal dash i took out so i can finish the firewall on the inside.I`m gonna purchase a steel rollpan this week and i`m buying some tubs from a shortbed truck from hotrod24 here so i can cut them down and use them for mini tubs for the inside of the bed.Plus i am hoping next year I can control my urge to buy parts i just threw out 1,000dollars worth of parts for my 70 cougar i bought and shouldn't have and no one  wanted to buy them or even take them so i scraped them and made more room in my shop on the good side of the ordeal ;D. But tonight i`ll take some pics of the truck and where i stand and oh 69byrd  if you are interested in selling them wheels in the future let me know i may buy them for my truck.

thanks

As of right now i been doing alittle side work (pic shown) I did buy a big block endurashine oval port intake  off of craigslist which should be here in a day or so and the rollpan and waiting on a pair of shortbed fleetside tubs from a member here so i can put the bed together, mock it up and trim the tubs  and then cut the proper opening holes on the bedsides so i can make the rear wheels a big larger once it comes time to get the wheels. But i figure in about 2-4 weeks i`ll be doing the body again and i was gonna repaint my 01 ram this year but i think i`m gonna try n get the shine back some, throw a coat of bedliner material on the badly faded sides and inside the bed and maybe in 2010 i`ll get it repainted. But i gotta get the stepside bodywork done this year so next year i`ll get the motor built and then hopefully the truck in paint.

Sorry i went off key alitlle but i been doing alot of deciding on my future money investments here but i`m gonna stop alot of the hard spending this year and buy just body work materials here n there to finish this body this year.

thanks

Neat wagon project.

Any more progress/news on your big-block 402?  Recent pics of it maybe?  Curious to know what your build plans for it are.  I've got one myself, just installed it into a '72 Cheyenne.  Picked it up for $700, in running condition.  ;D

Right now the 402 is in pieces. The motor came out of a 72 chevelle. When i got it it was just a bare block and i got it in a package deal with a 68 396 shortblock which i plan on putting aside. The 72 was just a 2 bolt main and nothing else except the main caps.I since then bought a set of 049 oval port heads, got a gear drive(noisy, i like that sound of a blower), a set of valve covers, a billet timing chain cover, a forged steel crank already cut 10/10 and just recently the intake.I plan on painting the motor the same color as the truck and add alot of BLING BLING to the motor.I also picked up a original 69 396 350hp air cleaner assenbly that needs rechroming.I`m gonna let a shop decide on cam, pistons and rods to use for the build when the time comes.I got a real nasty 700r4 i bought a few months ago that supposedly snaps a mean 2nd gear so back that up with a 402 and a 12 bolt 3.73 rear i see a sweet hotrod in the making. The wagon is a mothers day gift my father n 1 gave her 2 years ago.But the weather took its toll and destoyed the wood.So instead of letting it rot away i hauled it into our shop, tore it completly apart.Had some axles and some other pieces made and made a whole new box, powderocated all the brackets and used all new hardware, repainted the entire chasssis, clearcoated it and now were finishing up the box so i can paint it and reinstall the box and get it outside on the front yard so i can put my cougar back in the corner where it has lost its spot since november of 07.
thanks
pat

p.s. the guy that did the axle making said this is 1 of the oldest wagons he has seen in a very long time and could date back to the mid 1800s. He said if he wasnt so far away he offer 5,000 for it.Well if he offered 5,000 for it i say its worth at least 7,500 maybe more.So its a mothers day gift and it`ll be done and its now going to be better then before as all the bed wood is pressure treated and everything was painted in oil base and then 6 coats of clear added for protection. and all brushed on.Will i ever do another 1? 2 words HECK NO lol....... ;D

That's a cool wagon! Could you imagine the possibillities. Chrome wheels, mega c-notch, eight ball on the brake handle. A lowrider wagon! ;D
That is pretty cool though(in original form).

Thanks guys,
No horses will be pulling this wagon, its going to be a yard ornament.I been redoing this 4 about 4 months straight.I`m getting close to getting it done and out of my shop.I`ll be happy once its done. Oldwhity i like yer ideas lol... But its a definate piece of history there.I am just growing tired of looking at it and the constant (i want my wagon done, when are you gonna get my wagon finished) that was a year of hearingthis. My ol man dragged his feet so i took control of the project n in 4 months went from this:

To what you see in the previous thread in pictures.
thanks
pat

p.s.s the pic here was taken in 2007 and the box sat on a dolly and the only thing that was removed was the rear axle.I had a guy make all kinds of pieces and i primed them and painted them and clearcoated them.I`m done with this kind of project after this is done.Wy to much work for me

I hear ya. I dig that kind of stuff too.

BTW, is that a steel building that you have? I'm trying to collect thoughts and ideas. Was it fairly inexpensive? Looking to build a 30'wide x 40'deep with a 20' x 20' off the left rear side.
