Thursday, April 24th, 2008: Got a buddy to come over and weld up the 2 holes on the passenger side
Saturday, April 26th, 2008: Started to drill the new holes and realized the the drivers side is off too.  So now I need to weld all of them up and start all over again.....

May 20th, 2008: Received my Header/Y-pipe setup from Doug Thorley.  Haven't had time to install them as I wanted to get the holes fixed in the frame for the crossmember first.

Sunday, June 8th, 2008: Got a friend to come over and weld up the holes on the Jimmy that night.

i love the shade of blue that's on that Jimmy.  i'm looking for ideas on what to paint mine...the wife wants black and while i love black, mine is a 4x4 and it's gonna get used like one.  i mean, i'm not gonna beat the pee pee out of it, but i'm not driving around mudholes either...i just want something that doesn't look dirty 5 minutes after you wash it...and doesn't show every little scratch/ding

I plan to drill the holes and bolt the crossmember in and install the headers this weekend to check the fit.  So more is coming.

Saturday, July 26th, 2008:  Got all the holes redrilled and bolted down the 700R4, finally!


Sunday, July 27th, 2008: Got around to pulling the Thorley Headers out of the box.  Checked the contents and started installing the drives side.  Still need to put the passenger side on then the crossover, but here is the "good" side"

One header at a time?  Geez, you sure are dragging this out.  What do you think of the Thorleys?  I was pretty impressed with the fit on my set, but I'm running the straight dual type.

Well it was REALLY hot and it got late.  I had to box some items for shipping and modify the kick panels for clearing the parking brake, plus I was trying to play with Elizabeth before it got too dark, so I had some distractions.

FYI:  I got a call from Mike at Carquest today and he wanted to tell me about the mid-’80s police cars (Caprice) and the early Impala SS 700R4's that has the extension housing on the transmission placed at the same spot as a TH400 would mount.  I didn't go this route because I "thought" I had gotten a Caprice 700 that needed to be rebuilt and then this Camaro one basically fell into my lap when I checked the other one it wasn't a Caprice so I just moved forward with drilling out the hole since the housing wasn't what I needed.  The PN for this is "24214689" (old number) or "8673406" updated number.

what kind of crossmember is that?, I just put a 700r4 in my 83 , had to use the factory one...I like the one u have...
