Alright Guys it's been a while I guesse I have too many irons in the fire. A few months ago I ran my frame down to the fabricator to cut out the center section of the front suspension for weight loss and oil pan clearence as well as replace my bid flat peice forward of the crossmember with round tubing for clearence. I need to clean all the surface rust and start prepping the frame for paint.
Here the picts

Is a link suspension setup like that ok for street use? I would think it would have alot of side to side movement? But I love the truck.

I drove it around for years on the streets with no problems, This set up has poly bushings in all of the rod ends that helps and it has a panhard bar that limits sis to side movement.
I cant wait to get it back on the road

Thats ok, in these picts it wasnt installed. I just took a promotion with another company so I am in the process of packing all my stuff up and relocating to Wichita, I am hoping to get all settled in in about a month so I can at least hest the frame cleaned and painted before the heat kicks in out here, then this fall I'll work the rest of the truck. The engine is back at my machinist for assembly since I am moving I didnt want it to sit unassembled for too much longer.

Just in the process of updating everyone on my projects
the stepside is comming together nicely I got the frame cleaned and painted, assembled the front and rear suspension under coated the cab and remounted it to the frame. I made and mounted my fuel line and fuel filter. working on the brake lines and system but need to finish paint work first. I recieved my rear disk brake kit but I need my axels made first before I mount everything up.
I have decided to make a major change to this project nd put the 489 from the Dually into this truck and put it backon semi full street duty. I purchased a 66 Nova so the Tall Deck Procharged 505 will go into that. The 489 will still be plenty fast.
I cant seem to load Webshot photo's so you will have to follow the link at the bottom.

I love the Nova wagons too
The last time I weighed it was 3840 but I cut the cage out and had a foot of front crossmember removed so it should be quite a bit lighter.
