Hello, I'm Nick and I've been a chevy guy all my life (although the direction GM is taking now is starting to aggrevate me).  I've got a 76 K10 Std Cab LWB with a 350/4bbl, and TH350 trans.  It was my (late) grandfather's truck so its kind of a family heirloom.  Its got a full-time X-fer case and 66K original miles (although the rings are shot so it burns oil on long trips).  Runs like a top, all sheet metal was replaced except the roof (bed is off a '84 model).  I also have a '98 K1500 Z71, ext. cab SB with 104K, and a 02 SS Camaro with 20K.  I'm engaged, no kids (yet).  Look forward to the conversations and all that jazz.  Later.....

Hi my name is Bill if form Cincinnati, I'm 47 years old and started turning wrenches on engines w/ points-plugs-condensers, not to mention 4 wheel drum brakes.  My kids are grown and gone - but they keep comming back.
I'm currently rebuilding a '87 GMC 1/2 ton.  In retrospect I should have started with a pre '77, but I'm old and stubborn. I'm determend to build a good daily driver that will pull my 5,000# camper with the best big block.

My name is Pete.  I live in Ontario Canada.  I'm in Law Enforcement, married with two kids.  I'm new to the restoration hobby and have minimal automotive experience so this forum will be helpful sinc most of you guys have a wealth of experience.

I just bought an 1986 Silverado C-10 in good shape.  It is completely original and was babied by the last owner.  I'm looking to do a full personal restoration to make the truck mine.

Look forward to drawing from your experience.

Wriggs

The body is in good shap and will be gettig better as time progresses. I'm building a 305 for it as I type due to thats what it had in it, I dont know how the 305 got in there sense the VIN says it came with a 3504b. I work at www.strokerkits.com so I got a deal on machine work and this motor will last along time. I'll make a post later of my progress, anyways HI everyone!!!!!

I'm Ben, 58 (old fart), from central OH and I just finished restoring my 87 1/2ton 4x4 Silverado over the past year. I'm the 3rd owner and found this baby locally. A little rust but the interior is absolute cherry. With only 77k miles, I yanked the original 305 and replaced it with a 4 bolt 350. This truck was purchased with a 7.5 ft Western plow dealer installed. I took my time removing almost everything except the cab to clean, prime and repaint. I cut out the minor rust and welded in new panels and then gave it a new two tone paint job. Doing all the work myself in my garage and now have a super truck. Hoping I can figure out how the heck to post some pictures and share ideas with y'all.

My name is Larry, and I live in suburban Boston. Work in the computer consulting field.

I have a 74 C-10 Chevy, 2wd, longbed, 350, auto. Truck has 54K original miles. I am the 3rd owner (10 years), following my Dad's owning it for about 20 years. Most of it's life has been spent at a second home in northern Vermont, in a garage for almost all winters. Last Fall it got new floors, cab mounts, doors and a cab paint job (original black). Still needs quarters on the bed (rusted around bottoms and wheel wells.

I have it down in Boston this winter to do all the things I never have a chance to do when it is in VT. Just put all new fuel lines, fuel pump, water pump (it was the original), belts, hoses, trans lines, plugs, wires, dist. cap.rotor, valve cover gaskets, bulbs in the dash (I was down to one working!) and rebuilt the 2BBL carb. Going to do valve stem seals and shocks this winter and clean and paint as much of the frame, etc. as I can get to without removing cab and bed. Did a full body-off resto to a 66 Corvette a couple of years ago and my wife would kill me if she thought I was getting into a full resto on this! This is a driver truck.

It is a great truck and lots of sentimental value since my Dad owned it for so long.

Hello, I'm proud new owner of a 1981 Chevy Cheyenne Pickup. I only know a few things. It was purchased new by my Great Uncle and he was over 70 when he got it. Just passed and I was able to pick this SWB V6 3 speed up for $2500. It only has 35700 miles and everyone claims this is for real! I have two poor photos my mother took and her word on the rest. Yes, I took it sight unseen. Hope to enjoy it as a project with 15 yr old son. I'm really going to be looking for advice on the ends and outs of this truck.... I have no ego here so, if you have words of wisdom please feel free to send me any you can. I will be picking up truck Jan 2006.

Thanks,

Neal

PS. Any ideas on towing? It runs but afraid to push it 700 miles straight from Texas to Georgia.

I'm Jason and I'm 23 yrs old from east, Tennessee. I have a bright red 2wd swb 87 Silverado that my dad bought new. It has the original 5.0 305 T.B.I engine, 700R4 trans. and factory paint. The interior is black and has had a few minor mods including: bench recovered in tweed with red inserts, a bowtie rear view mirror, billet pedals, pioneer Cd player with a Kenwood amp and MTX speakers and a tach added in the ash-tray area. The truck has a spray on bedliner, Weld Draglite II wheels, dual exhaust with Flowmaster 40 mufflers. I also have a 2wd, lwb, black 85 custom deluxe. Its a good solid truck that I bought for $300. The engine ran but was pretty much blowed up. My dad and I built an old motor we had out of a
Nova and put it in. I has a slightly bigger cam with an Edelbrock inake and headers with flowmaster 40's.
